2. CHARLES CLYDE2 CROWE (THOMAS1) was born June 02, 1892 in Elliot, Illinois, and died December 13, 1957 in Gibson City, Illinois. He married ALMA LEONA O'NEAL December 24, 1914, daughter of SAMUEL O'NEAL and LILLIAN ISGRIGG. She was born October 10, 1896, and died February 04, 1969 in Gibson City, Illinois.

Crowe Services Held Sunday.

Funeral services for Charles C. Crowe was held Sunday at the Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. B. L. Bryan, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and Rev. R. M. Luedde, officiating. Mrs. E. B. Payne, organist accompanied by Mrs. Betty Main, who sang Sunrise Tomorrow. Pallbearers were Fred Kemp of Paxton, Carl Dewey, John Newby, Robert Boyce, Thomas Kelley and Ivan Johnson. Interment was in Gibson City cemetery.

Mr. Crowe, 65 years, 6 months, 11 days, had been ill several months, the cause of death was coronary. Death occured at 6:50 am Friday (Dec. 13, 1957), at his home in Gibson City.

He was born June 2, 1892 near Elliott, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Paul Crowe.

He married Alma O'Neal at Bloomington on Dec. 24, 1914, and they farmed near Gibson City for several years.

Mr. Crowe was chief of police in Gibson City from 1933 until 1942 and was elected sheriff of Ford county on the Republican ticket in 1942. He served four years as county sheriff and was a deputy under sheriffs Harry Curtiss, Harry Reehl, Harry Allen and Fred Kemp.

He had been on the Gibson City police force the past seven years and also served as a special deputy sheriff. Mr. Crowe was a member of the Evangelical United Brethern Church.

Surviving are the wife, two sons, Willard of Gibson City and Howard of Wilmington, Calif., five grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Tate of

Macomb, Ohio, and a brother, Percy Crowe of Paxton. Preceding him in death were several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Underwood Dies Tuesday

Mrs. Alma Crowe Underwood, 72, died at 5:30p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 1969 at the Gibson Community Hospital. She had been a patient for several weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Kaley officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery.

Friends may call at Lamb Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday. She will be taken to the church at 11:30 a.m Friday.

Mrs. Underwood was born Oct. 10, 1896 in Ellsworth, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel O'Neal. She married Charles Crowe Dec. 24, 1914 in Bloomington. He died in 1957. She made her home in Paxton for many years when Mr. Crowe was Ford County sheriff.

She married Henry Underwood May 2, 1963. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Henry Underwood of the Guthrie community; 2 sons, Howard Crowe, Wilmington, Calf. and Willard Crowe, Gibson City; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Lester and Ivor O'Neal, both of Gibson City and one sister Mrs. Belle Carver, LeRoy. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and two sisters.

Gibson City Couple Weds

Miss Alma O'Neal and Mrs. Charles C. Crowe of Gibson City were united in marriage Thursday at noon by Rev. Edgar DeWitt Jones in the study at the First Christian church. With the exception of a brother of the groom, they were unattended. They will make their home on a farm near Gibson City.

Mr. Crowe is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Crowe of Paxton and is one of our most respected young men. The bride is a fine young lady, daughter of Samuel and Lillian O'Neal, and has many warm friends in the community where

she resides.

It is with great pleasure that the Record and Paxton friends join in extending heartiest congratulations.
