Louis married Mary Lee Duvall on 18 Sep 1894 in Fort Monroe, Virginia.
Mary Lee was the only child and daughter of William Penn Duvall and
Rose O'Neale Greenhow Duvall. (Little Rose)
They had one child, Colonel Louis E. Marie, Jr, born in 1898.
1st lt Louis E. Marie was Commanding Officer of the Marine Barracks,
U.S. Naval Base, Subic Bay, PI from 5 Nov 1929 - 10 Oct 1930
Although scant biographical information has been found for New
York-born Louis E. Marie, it is apparent from citations in the
Philadelphia Real Estate Record and Builders' Guide that he had
considerable impact on buildings for the City of Philadelphia, chiefly
concentrating on alterations to fire and police stations. Before
undertaking his employment with the City, Marie had worked for the
prestigious firm of Furness, Evans & Co., but later he became
Acting City Architect (ca. 1914-1917). By 1918 he had become a
lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve, assigned to the Public Works
Office.
Marie joined the AIA in 1916. Written by Sandra L. Tatman.
