In my mind, Peter O'Neal is, was and still remains a hero for all time. He fought in the American Revolutionary War to win us the freedoms we hold so dearly today. He left the relative comforts of his home with his young wife, friends and neighbors and set out on a journey into the uncharted wilderness of the American frontier in search of his dreams. He was a frontier ranger, risking life and limb to rescue folks captured by hostile Indians and to protect his community from attack. He raised a large family and purchased over 600 acres of land during his lifetime, which he left as a legacy to his children. But Peter left an even more important legacy. From the twelve children he and Sarah bore, we are aware of over 2,600 descendants in more than 26 states. The legacy he left to us and to the many generations to come in the future was the story of his life. If you are one of the many descendants of Peter O'Neal you can look back with pride at the shining example Peter left behind for us all……….
