NEW TOGA DATABASE PROJECT
How many times have you run across an O'Neal source record
and discarded it because it was not in our line? And then later learned
that it was in our line and had go out searching for it all over again?
This has happened to me more times than I care to think
about. And we've decided to do something about it. TOGA Member and cousin,
Bev Crowe and I have started a rather big project. We're building a series
of O'Neal CD's.
THE O'NEAL DATABASE CD SERIES
The database was written using the Microsoft Access Database
Program, and it's output was converted to HTML. (Hyprt Text Markup Language)
and then converted to a stand alone executable file and placed on a CD.
I wrote the program and did the conversions while Bev was searching out
data files and inputting the Data. As of this writing Bev has inputted
over 7,000 Census records. I am up to Version 3.0 and have completed the
final revisions of the TOGA Census CD. The O'Neal Genealogy Association
Census Database CD is now available to TOGA Members. To purchase a copy,
go to out TOGA Store at http://www.onealwebsite.com/togastore.htm
Funds from thie sale of the CD will help support the
costs of The O'Neal Genealogy Association and fund future projects.
Future TOGA Database CD's include:

TRIAL VERSION ON-LINE
To give our TOGA Members an idea of what the finished product
will look like and to get your opinions on improvements we have posted
a limited trial version of the database on the web site.
Please give it a whirl and let Bev and I know what you
think The trial version only has about 300 records in it, to make changes
to it easier, but is fully functional and should provide you with a good
example of what the finished databases will look like and how they will
work.
HOW TO FIND AND USE THE DATABASE
From the start page, http://www.onealwebsite.com click on
the DATABASE link.
You will be asked for a password. Type TOGADB and push
the select button and you will be taken to the GUI. (Graphical User Interface)
The GUI is set up in HTML and works just like an ordinary
web page. Click links to select the records you wish to view. To select
a state for viewing, you can select the state on a US Map or from a list.
If you click a link and nothing appears that means there is no data there.
