PHOTO CD/DVD AVAILABLE
Thanks to the efforts of TOGA Members Kenneth O'Neal and Bev Crowe our Ancestors Photo CD/DVD is complete. The CD/DVD contains about 400 photos of our ancestors. Each of the photos has had the names of the known individuals, along with any other pertinent information added right to the photo so it can be displayed along with the image. The disk can be viewed as a slideshow on a PC or placed into an image capable DVD player for viewing on your television screen.
Recently I sat
down in front of the TV with my family and we watched the DVD. It was so
nice to share the photos of my cousins as little children, of our parents,
aunts and uncles and grandparents as they grew from childhood through adulthood
into old folks, and to see our great-grandparents and their siblings and
relatives we've never had the opportunity to meet. This would be a great
item to take to a family reunion, or to give as a gift, or even as a stocking
stuffer.
Requirements: For the CD/DVD to be used you must have an IBM Compatible PC (Sorry, no Macintosh Version, yet.) or a DVD player with graphic viwing capabilities. (Note: My old DVD player did not play graphics so I went to Circuit City and bought one that would for $58.00!)
Ordering information: To order a copy of the O'Neal Family Photo
Album CD/DVD send a check or money order made out to John W. O'Neal, II
in the amount of $21.45 to the address below: Shipping and handling are
included in the price. Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.

Additional note: My DVD player allows me to select the speed at which
the photos are displayed. There are 3 speeds. In Fast mode, the photos
are displayed for about 3 seconds each and it takes about 20 minutes to
view all 400 photos. At Medium speed it takes about an hour to view them
all and at Slow speed each photo is displayed for about 20 seconds and
takes about 2 1/2 hours to view. I enjoyed the slow view best. We were
able to soak up the ambiance of each photo, look at the people and the
backgrounds with the old homes and cars, the funny clothes they wore, and
their strange hair-do's and talk about the memories each photo invoked,
where they were taken, etc. The DVD is best viewed with family and large
quantities of popcorn. (Not included, sorry!)
