Montgomery County Census 1840-1880
Recently Bev Crowe has been going over the Montgomery County, Maryland Census records page by page to find additional information on our O'Neal's and allied families. Below are some of the results.
1880 US Census Rockville, Montgomery Maryland. J. Haney age 49, Carpenter; Julia wife age 49; Walter son 22, Farmer; Mary, 15 at school; Rose 18 at school; Fanie 13, at school; Nora 10 at school; Lillie 8; William George ONEAL other 20, Laborer.
1880 US Census Rockville, Montgomery Maryland. Hellery ONEAL (could this be a son of Hilleary?) age 59 Laborer; Elizabeth wife age 48 keeping house; George son age 19, Laborer; Robert son age 16, Laborer; Hester dau age 10; James ONEAL other age 7. Yes, I'm adding him into my DB with the disclaimer that we're not sure if he's Hilleary's son.
1880 US Census Rockville, Montgomery Maryland. William ONEAL age 22 laborer living in the household of Phillip SHARER, age 75, a farmer.
1880 US Census Rockville, Montgomery, Maryland Frank Mace 49 Real Estate Agent; Fannie wife 43; Charles R. son 24 farmer; Dora dau 19; Samuel son 13; Rosa dau 11; H. son 8 (believed he died prior to the census); Matilda (Middleton) RILEY Mother-in-Law Widow age 80.
1880 US Census Rockville, Montgomery, Eliza Higgins age 77 b 1805, who married Henry West b 3/29/1801 is living with her brother Charles A. C. Higgins.
1880 US Census Mechanicsville, Montgomery County Maryland. Arabella, Nathaniel, Martha, Richard Jones, children of Evan Jones & Sarah West.
1880 US Census Rockville, Montgomery County Maryland. Cassandra Eleanor West who married Zephaniah Nathan Jones had 6 children plus Erasmus West (Cassandra’s father) living with them.
1880 US Census Darnestown, Montgomery County Maryland. Haney, Eva K. age 92 date of death 2 22 1951 Rockville Cemetery Haney, Walter M. date of death 6 30 1912. This is the son of J Haney above and his wife.
